Always Watching by Lynette Eason

Exciting

Always Watching by Lynette Eason is an exciting contemporary Christian suspense. It is the first book in the Elite Guardians series which promises to be fabulous.

The novel is about searching and protecting as a stalker threatens lives and the elite guardians are called in. This reminds the reader that we can call on God to protect us as we wander through life. Whenever we are in trouble we can call out to God in prayer and trust that He has our backs. “Clinging to God when life crashes around you is what you do.” When life crumbles around us, we must hang on to our Rescuer.

God walks beside us through all the seasons in life. “I prayed, but nothing happened.” “God was with you in that situation.” Sometimes when we are in the storm, we are so focused on the storm that we fail to see God. But God is always with us, whether we see Him or not.

We do not always understand why we face storms. “Why was this happening? God I don’t understand.” We must trust that God can use our circumstances to draw us closer to Him as He sees us through.

Active Defense by Lynette Eason

A Thrilling Ride

Active Defense by Lynette Eason is a thrilling contemporary Christian crime suspense. It is the third book in the Danger Never Sleeps series but can be read as a stand-alone.

Once more I enjoyed catching up with familiar faces – a group of Afghanistan veterans who support each other through life. They have shared memories and shared traumas.

The atmosphere is tense as somebody is pulling the strings to attempt a kidnap. The reader is caught up in the action as we try to work out who the perpetrator is. There is naturally the theme of trust.

The literary device of pathetic fallacy is used as the weather often sets the mood for the action.

Some of the characters have had abusive childhoods. They fear repeating the pattern of their fathers as they grow and so they deliberately choose a different path to walk. Emotional growth is stunted as they fear opening themselves up to hurt.

Acceptable Risk by Lynette Eason

Good Hearts

Acceptable Risk by Lynette Eason is a fabulous Christian suspense and the second book in the Danger Never Sleeps series. It can be read as a stand-alone. I enjoyed catching up with familiar faces.

Lynette Eason is a master of the suspense drama. She had me glued and guessing from the start. Her characters are all well drawn, realistic and likable. Her leading lady is a mixture of strong but struggling with the insecurities that come with PTSD. She tries to press on regardless of her internal battles.

Families are a curious blend. Sometimes the methods used to keep us safe are questionable. Cracks appear in relationships. The past must be faced and forgiveness given, as much for our sake as for the sake of others.

Pursuing wealth and power is a futile chase. The richest people are those with healthy relationships with others.
