The Swan Dress Murders by Millie Ravensworth

Totally Engaged

The Swan Dress Murders by Millie Ravensworth is the fourth book in A Cosy Craft Mystery series. Once more the reader is totally engaged in the exploits of Izzy and Penny as they have another double murder to solve.

Murder seems to follow the pair around as their powers of amateur sleuthing are put to the test once more.

The pair are engaging as their light hearted banter flows freely.

As well as following their powers to solve crime, we see their individual pursuits of true love.

With a wedding to attend and crimes to solve, the reader is highly entertained.

The Sequinned Cape Murders by Millie Ravensworth

Light Hearted

The Sequinned Cape Murders by Millie Ravensworth continues the fabulous A Cosy Craft Mystery series and is book three.

Once more Izzy and Penny pair up to solve another couple of murders. The pair bounce off each other beautifully. They are loyal to each other as proven when a misunderstanding leaves each of them thinking the other committed a murder as the novel opens! As it is a cosy crime, the situation is rather amusing.

The craft shop is once more the focus of the community as the pair are sought out to provide fancy dress outfits for Nana Lem’s eightieth birthday.

Monty, the corgi, once more has a starring role as he is cast as match maker for Izzy.

The Painted Lobster Murders by Millie Ravensworth

Not You Monty!

The Painted Lobster Murders by Millie Ravensworth is the second book in the delightful contemporary A Cosy Craft Mystery series. It can be read as a stand-alone but I recommend reading book one first for maximum enjoyment.

We rejoin Izzy and Penny as they continue to run their grandmother’s craft shop. They are a delightful pairing who work well together. They are wonderful sparring partners as well as amateur sleuths. They come up with innovative ways to make money in the craft shop, as well as getting into a few scrapes along the way.

Throughout there are repetitive ideas and catch phrases which adds to the reader’s enjoyment. Who can forget the masks they gave away at a ten year olds party and the repercussions! Also Monty the dog – a catch phrase developed around him, as he adopted the pair.

The Wonderland Murders by Millie Ravensworth

Entertaining

The Wonderland Murders by Mille Ravensworth is a delightfully fun contemporary novel and the first book in A Cosy Craft Mystery series.

The tone is light-hearted – think Midsomer Murders meets Death In Paradise – and it is set in a quintessential English town. I pictured it like the Shambles in York. All is calm and friendly until two murders happen in quick succession.

The granddaughters who are running the sewing craft shop are intrigued as they put on their best amateur super sleuthing hats and try to solve the murders. They bounce ideas off each other whilst also outfitting the local children in book characters for £5 for World Book Day.

There are some absolutely hilarious and rather bizarre moments – including fitting Arabella the pig for a waistcoat whilst reading poetry!
