A Thrilling Conclusion
Hostile Intent by Lynette Eason is a thrilling contemporary crime suspense. It is the fourth book in the Danger Never Sleeps series but can be read as a stand-alone. I have loved the whole series. It has been utterly brilliant.
There is an air of tension and suspense that wafts over the whole novel that made my heart race. Actions have consequences and it seems like someone is out for revenge. A life-times events are coming to a head. The reader ‘hears’ the killer’s voice and we know his name from the start. But we do not know why or why now?
Secrets have been kept over the years. As they trickle out, a character wonders if recent past events are quite as they seem.
A close bond has formed over the years between a father and his daughter. They love puzzles and are always on the same wavelength.
A lifetime of hiding the truth has prevented a character from truly trusting anyone enough to let them into her life. It is so tiring having to lie on a regular basis in order to keep everyone safe. Is it now time to let the barriers come down and let others in?
Lynette Eason has once again constructed a cleverly thought-out thriller. She entertains, keeping the reader on high alert throughout. Her stories are always top notch.
Danger Never Sleeps has been a fantastic read that would translate perfectly into a Netflix series – any producers out there please take note.
I received a free copy via Net Galley. A favourable review was not required. All opinions are my own.
