A Life Lived Well
A Holiday Heart by Denise Weimer is a perfectly delightful contemporary Christian tale that will warm your heart. It is part of the Georgia Peaches series but can be read as a stand-alone.
The novel concerns the legacy that we leave. A legacy is so much more than material goods. We see a grandmother’s legacy of love as she left behind memories, life lessons and final wishes. The love radiates outwards encompassing the reader. The grandmother is deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched. She lives on through them.
The action is set within the countryside in log cabins in the lead up to Christmas. It is here that a character comes alive, realising her potential and the plan that God has for her life.
Life may have been hard in the past and a character turned their back on God blaming Him for the losses in life. But God never gave up pursuing a heart that was once His. A grandmother’s legacy is to open a heart to see the goodness of God.
The setting is delightful and comes to life under Denise Weimer’s masterful pen. The reader ‘walks’ through the novel ‘seeing’ the landscapes in our mind’s eye.
I adore all Denise Weimer’s novels. A Holiday Heart is just perfect to read in the lead up to Christmas or indeed at any time of year to let a little Christmas love and a huge legacy of love into your life.
I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.
