Behold I Make All Things New
A Shattered Life Restored by Marshalee Patterson is a Christian novel focusing on the greatness of God who can take broken lives and make them new. It is an emotional read that will have you reaching for the tissues. The novel surrounds loss. “It just seems so hard to move past the pain.” The loss that is so great it is impossible to see any light ahead. The world seems bleak. Even God seems absent. “His love had never left me, even when I didn’t feel like I had it.” God will never leave us but in our pain we may isolate ourselves from Him.
We need to move back to God. Prayer is important. “God kept silent, so she waited.” God always answers us but not always in the way or when we expect Him to.
We are to pray at all times especially when all seems hopeless. “Keep praying and let go of fear.” Fear is the opposite of faith. If we have faith, we need never fear.
There is great love in the novel. God loves us so much that sometimes His presence is tangible. “I felt the presence of God… like He was hugging me.”
We all face battles. The battle may be a spiritual one. The enemy comes to rob and destroy. We need to cover our loved ones with prayer.
There is the theme of forgiveness. Sometimes we cannot forgive in our own strength and need God to help us.
A Shattered Life Restored is full of Godly lessons and scripture for us all to learn from. The novel is really powerful and emotional. You will need tissues. It is all the more poignant because of the experiences of author Marshalee Patterson.
Grab the tissues and the book and settle down for an emotional roller coaster ride.
I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.

About the author
Marshalee Patterson was born in Kingston, Jamaica. She has loved reading since she could walk. Growing up without a television sparked in her a love for reading and the world of imagination. Some of her favourite novels were written by Charles Dickens, Jane Eyre and Victor Hugo, as she found she liked the true to life stories that we all can relate to. She wrote her first novella-Predestined Love after travelling to Italy and wanted to write a romance novel about it, only she didn’t know that God had plans for her and that story when he changed the direction of what she originally had in mind. It was then that she knew she was called to write stories to uplift and inspire readers, showing them how to find God in their struggles and the faith to trust Him through it. Marshalee is a lover of nature and the tranquillity of it. She finds the outdoors refreshing and peaceful. She also loves Spanish ballads and dances salsa very well.
