A Poem
What do you see when you look at Me?
A baby lying on a bed of straw
Surrounded by animals
Loved by His parents
But no room at the inn
Born to die.
What do I see when I look at you?
A baby lying in a hospital cot
Clean surroundings
A new life full of potential.
What do you see when you look at Me?
A child growing
Learning his father’s trade
Preparing for His Father’s business.
What do I see when I look at you?
A child growing
Learning its letters
Preparing for life
Walking with Me.
What do you see when you look at Me?
A Man drawing others to His Father
Loved,
Worshipped,
Adored.
Followed by men.
A Man with the healing touch
A Man going about His Father’s business.
What do I see when I look at you?
A man going about his business
Too busy to pray
Too busy for Me.
Too many cares
Too much money to make
Too much money to spend
Too many business deals to make
No room in his heart for Me.
What do I see when I look at you?
A man going about his business
Too busy not to pray
Too busy not to worship
A man who sees people
A man who sees Me
A man with room in his heart for Me.
What do you see when you look at Me?
A Man bruised and battered
Bleeding
Dying.
Hanging on a cross
For you
For me.
What else do you see?
A mother kneeling
Weeping, wailing
Powerless to help.
A mother who can only watch
And weep
For her Son
Hanging on a tree.
What do you hear?
A whisper
A word
A name
Your name
My name
A cry
“It is finished.”
What do you see when you search for Me?
A Man
Risen.
A Man Who loves
You
Me
A Man Who promises
“Never will I leave you
Never will I forsake you
I AM with you always.”
What do I see when I look at you?
A body
Old, worn out, tired.
A life lived with eyes on Me
A life loved with a heart beating in tune with Mine
A soul joined with Me.
Give Me your hand
And together we will step into eternity.
