Dancing With Jesus
One Monday Prayer by T.K. Chapin is the latest in the Diamond Lake series but can be read as a stand-alone. It is a contemporary Christian romance and just perfect to read in the weeks leading up to the festive season as it is set in the weeks following Thanksgiving. It would be great to read at any time of year too.
The main theme is that of dealing with grief and loss. People all handle grief differently. Even though as Christians we know our loved one is “dancing with Jesus,” we still miss them. Grief can be all consuming. “It’s about learning to continue living when you don’t want to anymore.” You have to get used to a new type of normal.
Linked to the theme of loss is that of guilt – guilt that you survived, guilt that you couldn’t prevent death, guilt for thinking about being happy and starting to live again.
Prayer is of vital importance. Prayer can help get one through life. We need to pray at all times. “I found myself in prayer with a stranger.” Prayer can help to calm us and conquer our fears.
Faith is the opposite of fear. If we know God, we know that He is for us, so why should we fear? “Even though my faith faltered, You did not.” When we are weak, then God is strong.
Trust is linked to faith. We need to trust that God’s plans are greater than our own.
One Monday Prayer is a real feel-good novel. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am absolutely loving this Diamond Lake series. Each book seems even better than the last. It’s a wonderful series and I can highly recommend it.
I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.
